Latin 3

Latin 3 continues study from the previous year and is open to students have completed material from lessons 1 – 20 of Henle Latin.

Students will work through Lessons 21 – 30 completing weekly homework assignments.
Challenging sentences have been identified by the tutor and will be done as a group in class for the benefit of all of the students. Quizzes and tests will be administered on each chapter.
Each student must check their answer key and parents must use this to oversee their work.

All students will take the National Latin Exam in March.
The NLE is a worldwide exam that is given to Latin students.
Here is their philosophy from their website:
Exam is predicated on providing every Latin student the opportunity to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and success in his study of the Latin language and culture. This opportunity exists for each individual student since, on the National Latin Exam, he is not competing with his fellow student on a comparative basis, but is evaluated solely on his own performance on the exam. The basic purposes of the NLE are to promote the study of Latin and to encourage the individual student.
